Artist Statement

My current work challenges the viewers perspective through the utilization of cropped images requiring the viewer to decide the what or the who. I have been greatly influenced by Seurat and pointillism, especially my interest in the eye, eye as iconography and the way the eye works, including the phenomenon of optical color mixing. Much like art, eyes say more than words could.  I started out creating works using pen and ink. Later finding excitement through mixed media, manipulating different materials, such as pompoms on canvas, and tiny glass marble beads to explore pointillism, and color mixing.

You are an unfinished work in progress. One of the good things about life’s challenges: you get to find out that you’re capable of being far more than you ever thought possible.
